Safundi is much more than an academic journal. It is an online community of scholars, professionals, and students interested in viewing and analyzing the United States and South Africa from an international, transnational, and/or comparative perspective. The centerpiece of this online community is the Journal of South African and American Studies, a peer-reviewed quarterly academic journal. Four other resources augment this website's offerings: a Research E-Newsletter, a Database of Comparative Syllabi, an Online Member Directory, and a Comparative Bibliography. With all of these resources, the editors of Safundi seek to better understand South Africa and the United States in light of each other.
