Andrew Offenburger

Andrew Offenburger is Founding Editor of Safundi: The Journal of South African & American Studies. He received his B.A. from Buena Vista University in 1998 and founded Safundi one year later. He is presently pursuing his M.A. in African Studies at Yale University. Andrew received Yale's Fox International Fellowship for the 2006-2007 academic year, which enabled him to conduct archival and other primary research in South Africa, based at the University of Cape Town. This research and his studies at Yale will culminate in a thesis on the history and cultural memory of the Xhosa Cattle-Killing Movement of 1856-1857 (www.xhosacattlekilling.net).

Andrew is from Des Moines, Iowa, and his wife, Maria, is from Corrientes, Argentina.
