Andrew Offenburger

Andrew Offenburger is Founding Editor of Safundi: The Journal of South African & American Studies. He is presently pursuing his Ph.D. in U.S. history at Yale University. His research focuses on the history of the American West placed within a broader context of global migrations and frontiers in the Atlantic world.

Andrew earned an M.A. in African studies at Yale, and his thesis was on the history and cultural memory of the Xhosa Cattle-Killing of 1856-1857 in South Africa (www.xhosacattlekilling.net).

Andrew is from Johnston, Iowa, and his wife, Maria, is from Corrientes, Argentina.
