David Chioni Moore

David Chioni Moore is Associate Professor of International Studies and
English at Macalester College in St. Paul, Minnesota, USA. He has published extensively on literary and cultural interactions in the Black Atlantic world, notably Africa, the Caribbean, and African America. The academy classifies him as a 'post-colonialist,' but he prefers to think of himself as an Afro-planetarist. Moore has published widely in journals such as Diaspora, Research in African Literatures, Genre, the Journal of
Anthropological Research, Callaloo, the Slavic and East European Journal,
Resources for American Literary Study, Frontiers, and Transition.

He is editor of Martin Bernal's Black Athena Writes Back, and is currently
completing two editions of Langston Hughes's writings: first, an updated
and expanded edition of Hughes's A Negro Looks at Soviet Central Asia
(originally published in Moscow in 1934), and second, an edition of the
extensive correspondence between Hughes and four pioneering South African writers: Peter Abrahams, Richard Rive, Es'kia Mphahlele, and Bloke Modisane.
