Renée Schatteman

I teach postcolonial literature and teacher education at Georgia State University. In 2002, Dr. Pearl McHaney and I co-directed and summer institute for the National Endowment for the Humanities entitled "Literary Perspectives on Race and Rights in the American South and in South Africa: Eudora Welty, Alice Walker, Nadine Gordimer, and Sindwe Magona." In the fall of 2004, we cotaught an undergraduate course comparing literature by women from the two contexts and then offered a similar course on the graduate level in the summer of 2005.
